Thank you to the 170+ attendees who joined us for the Breakfast with Friends fundraiser on April 12 at Manitou Event Center, and to all who donated to and sponsored the event. Author Mona Susan Power gave a lovely talk before spending time with attendees. This fundraiser has so far netted $14,000, which will be used to expand the lending collection shared by all seven Ramsey County Library locations.

About the Author
Mona Susan Power is the author of four books of fiction: The Grass Dancer (awarded the PEN/Hemingway prize), Roofwalker, Sacred Wilderness, and A Council of Dolls (winner of the Minnesota Book Award and the High Plains Book Award, longlisted for the National Book Award and the Carol Shields Prize, and highlighted as one of the best books of 2023 by The New Yorker). Her short stories and essays have been widely published in journals and anthologies, including TheBest American Short Stories series, The Paris Review, The Atlantic Monthly, and Granta. Power is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe (Yanktonai Dakota), born and raised in Chicago. She currently lives in Minnesota, where she’s working to complete a new novel.
