Libraries are welcoming, safe places for all members of our community—families, seniors, students, new arrivals to Minnesota, and many more. Our libraries continue to evolve, providing opportunities for reading and reflection, recreation and connection, and creativity and innovation. They are also dedicated to building equity and community—so critical to dismantling pervasive racism.
Since 1979, the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries have been gathering funds and volunteers for vital programs, services, equipment, materials and more at the seven Ramsey County public libraries: Maplewood, Mounds View, New Brighton, North St. Paul, Roseville, Shoreview, and White Bear Lake.
Each year, philanthropic gifts to the Friends make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, youth, and adults through investments in:
Summer knowledge retention programs for more than 25,000 children and teens
Early literacy and lifelong learning classes and programming
Digital literacy and technology labs for new immigrants and established community members
Estate gifts made to the Friends of the Ramsey County Libraries help sustain programs and services that are not supported by tax dollars. A donation to the Friends is a direct way to improve library collections, increase learning, and expand virtual access. Your legacy gift will leave a meaningful impact on countless lives for future generations. You will also be welcomed as a member of the Legacy Circle, which includes special privileges and opportunities for you to connect with others who share your commitment to sustaining the health and future of the library.
How to Make a Planned Gift to the Library
1. Ensure you have a current will that reflects your charitable objectives. Without a will you surrender control of your property and assets to the courts.
2. Think beyond cash. You can gift stocks, real estate, insurance policies and personal property to charitable organizations.
